🏆 Bested

📜 Terms

Last updated October 1, 2026

These are the rules for using Bested, an app made by Emily, an independent developer in Canada. By using Bested you agree to them. Questions? Email hello@bested.app.

Using Bested

  • You need to be at least 13 to use Bested.
  • Keep your email account secure — it's how you sign in.
  • You're responsible for what happens in your account.

Keep it friendly

Smack talk is part of the fun — but keep it playful. Don't use Bested to harass, threaten or bully anyone, share hateful, sexual or illegal content, impersonate someone, or try to break or misuse the service. Rivalry founders can remove members, and we may remove content or accounts that break these rules.

Your stuff

What you add to Bested — games, notes, messages, names — stays yours. You give Bested permission to store it and show it to the people you share it with (your rivalries and the people in your games), just so the app can work. Only add other people's names and details in ways they'd be happy with.

Paid plans

Bested is free to use. A paid "Level Up" membership is coming. When it launches, the price and what's included will be shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel — you can cancel anytime and keep your membership until the end of the period you paid for. Purchases are handled by Stripe.

Changes and availability

Bested is a small project that's still growing. Features may change, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. If we ever shut Bested down, we'll give you notice and a chance to save your memories.

Ending things

You can stop using Bested and delete your account anytime. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

The legal bits

Bested is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, lost data or anything arising from how people use the app. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live. These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province you live in.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in an important way, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app.
